Overview

At HandiWork Designs, we value our customers and aim to provide quality handcrafted products with care and consistency. In line with the Consumer Protection Act (No. 68 of 2008), you are entitled to return most items within 7 business days of receiving them, provided certain conditions are met. In some cases, returns may be accepted for up to 30 calendar days at our discretion.

This policy applies to physical goods purchased via our website or official sales channels.


Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be unused, in its original condition, and in its original packaging.

  • A receipt or proof of purchase must be provided.

  • The return must be requested within 7 business days of delivery unless otherwise agreed.


Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned or refunded, including:

  • Custom-made or personalised items (including pet-themed planter boxes, engraved products, or any made-to-order goods).

  • Digital downloads or software products.

  • Gift cards or vouchers.

  • Personal care, health, or sanitary products.

  • Items marked as “final sale” or “non-refundable” at the time of purchase.

  • Perishable goods such as fresh flowers (if applicable in the future).


Partial Refunds May Be Granted [ At Our Discretion ]

  • Items with obvious signs of wear or damage not caused by us.

  • Products returned outside the 7-day window but within 30 days (where applicable).

  • Missing parts not due to our error.

  • Opened packaging for non-defective items.


Refunds Process

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you by email. We will confirm whether the refund has been approved or rejected.

If approved, your refund will be processed using your original payment method. Refunds are typically processed within 7 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.


Late or Missing Refunds

If your refund hasn’t been received after confirmation:

  1. Re-check your bank account or payment app.

  2. Contact your bank or credit provider—refunds may take time to reflect.

  3. Still nothing? Email us at mandy@handiworkdesigns.co.za, and we’ll assist.


Sale Items

Only regular-priced items are eligible for a refund. Sale or discounted items cannot be refunded unless they are defective or damaged.


Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective, damaged, or incorrect. If you need to exchange an item, please contact us at mandy@handiworkdesigns.co.za and return the item to:

Gifts

If an item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you may receive a store credit or gift certificate once the return is received and approved.
If the item was not marked as a gift, or was sent to the purchaser first, the refund will go to the original buyer.


Return Shipping

You are responsible for the cost of returning items unless the product was incorrect, defective, or damaged upon delivery.

  • Shipping costs are non-refundable.

  • If your return is approved for a refund, any return shipping fees (where applicable) may be deducted from your refund.

  • We recommend using a trackable courier service or insured parcel, especially for higher-value items. We cannot guarantee receipt of returned goods without tracking.
